Azpilicueta concludes his time at Atlético de Madrid "full of commitment, dedication, and learning."

Atlético de Madrid defender César Azpilicueta concluded his spell at the red-and-white club on Monday after two seasons under Simeone .

"César Azpilicueta will begin a new professional phase and will no longer wear the red and white colors once his contract with our club ends on Monday, June 30, 2025," Atlético de Madrid confirmed on Monday, leaving him with 54 appearances, 32 as a starter.

"After two seasons, the time has come to say goodbye. Although my time at Atlético has been brief, it has been full of commitment, dedication, and learning," he said on social media.

"From day one, I felt welcomed like one of them. I've been fortunate to share my daily life with an incredible group of people, both on and off the field. Thanks to all of them for making me feel part of this family from the very beginning," he added.

Azpilicueta wanted to "thank everyone who works at the club and the fans for their constant support." "I've tried to defend this badge with courage and heart at all times," he noted.

"Although I would have liked to have helped win titles, I thank you for allowing me to have this experience. I wish you the best in the future," he said.

Atlético Madrid also thanked Azpilicueta for "his dedication and effort during his time with our team" and wished him "good luck in his next professional and personal endeavors."
